The Institute of Early Childhood) and the affiliated Children and Families Research Centre (CFRC) welcome postgraduate research students from Australia and around the world.

Early Childhood postgraduate research specialisations at Macquarie University include international early childhood development, emergency and post conflict  issues for young children, literacy and language, policy, pedagogy and leadership, early childhood, mathematics, science and technology and the arts in early childhood.

Higher degree research candidates include those undertaking a Master of Research and/or a PhD degree. Candidates at the Institute of Early Childhood and the Research Centres have full access to University facilities, including high quality office space, IT technology and a designated area within the central library. Candidates are eligible for financial support to assist with their field work and their participation at conferences around the globe.
